Abstract

The present study sought to provide a structural model of organizational justice based on transactional and transformational leadership at Islamic Azad University. The target population included all administrative employees of the Islamic Azad University of Roudehen, Damavand and Pardis branches (n=634). Consulting Morgan’s table a sample of 240 employees was randomly selected. The research instruments included Bass & Avolio’s (1997) multi-variable leadership questionnaire and Beugre’s (1998) organizational justice questionnaire with reliability indexes of 0.93 and 0.94 respectively. A use was made of structural equation modeling in particular path analysis in analyzing the data. Path analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between both transactional & transformational leadership and organizational justice suggesting more specifically that both affected directly organizational justice. Variables of encouraging intellectual effort and active management had the strongest direct effects on the endogenous variable. From among the justice variables distributive justice was found as the most significant defining variable of organizational justice in the model. The model fitted the data adequately.
