Abstract

In this study, the most important goal of the research was to show the structural relationship between organizational forgetting and leadership styles based on the mediating role of knowledge management in Islāmic Azad University, Khuzestan province. This research is descriptive-correlational, and the statistical population includes faculty members of the Islāmic Azad University of Khuzestan Province in 2016-2017. From this community with 4210 subjects, using Krejcie and Morgan table, 351 subjects selected by cluster random sampling. For data collection, the Holan and Phillips Organizational Forgetting Questionnaire (2004), Bose and Olivier Multivariate Leadership Style (1997) and Knowledge Management (NONAKA and TOKUCI) (1995) were used. Structural equation modeling is used for data analysis. The results showed that KM has a positive mediating role in the relationship between transformational leadership style and organizational forgetting, and has a negative mediating role in the relationship between non-intervention leadership style and organizational forgetting.
