An organizational agility model for middle schools based on knowledge management in Tehran City

Abstract

Introduction and purpose: The agility of schools shows their responsiveness when faced with internal and external changes. The purpose of this research is to present the organizational agility model of schools based on knowledge management in secondary schools in Tehran.

Research methodology: The research method is mixed (qualitative-quantitative). In the qualitative part, the theme analysis approach is used inductively. The participants in the qualitative section included 15 professors and in the quantitative section 381 managers, assistants and experts of the educational districts of Tehran were selected as samples. Random sampling method is cluster. In this research, the data collection method in the qualitative part; Library study and interviews and in the quantitative part using a questionnaire made by a researcher including the dimensions of organizational agility based on the findings of the qualitative stage and the implementation of the knowledge management questionnaire was the standard knowledge management questionnaire of Adam et al. (2022) for data analysis in the qualitative part for data analysis. Theme analysis was used with inductive approach and maxqda software, and descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used in a small part.

Findings: Based on the results obtained from the analysis of the interviews, 4 main categories of strategic dimension, managerial dimension, technological dimension and competence dimension of human resources were identified. And in the quantitative part, it confirmed the fit of the organizational agility model of schools based on knowledge management.

Discussion and conclusion: According to the identification of the positive effect of knowledge management on organizational agility, it seems possible to improve organizational agility by increasing and strengthening knowledge management.
