The relationship between participation in sports and the level of physical literacy with the dimensions of teachers' quality of life in the Covid-19 crisis

Abstract

Introduction: continuation of the healthy life of sports teachers during the global epidemic depends on regular physical activity and having proper knowledge during the quarantine process. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between participation in sports and the level of physical literacy with the quality of life of teachers during the Covid-19 crisis.

research methodology: The present research is applied research in terms of its purpose and a survey in terms of the method of data collection. The statistical population of the present study included all physical education teachers of Ilam province, numbering 321 people. The sampling method was random sampling, and the sample size was 185 people selected using Cochran's formula. To collect data three questionnaires including; the Sports participation questionnaire by Gill et al. (1993), the physical literacy level questionnaire by Higgs et al. (2008), and the World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire (1996) were used. To analyze the data, focal correlation tests were used by SPSS22 software.

Findings: The results of the research showed that participation in sports and the level of physical literacy were significantly and bidirectionally correlated with the components of teachers' quality of life in two dimensions, and the strongest relationship was between participation in sports and social health.

Conclusion: When appointing and hiring physical education teachers, their physical health level should be measured and over time after their employment, their physical health should be measured at a certain time interval, and if there is a problem, necessary corrective measures should be taken.
