The current research was conducted with the aim of the role of social capital and organizational learning ability in knowledge creation in order to provide a suitable model for it. This research was based on the purpose, applied and mixed in terms of method.
The research method was based on the foundational data theory in the qualitative part and descriptive-correlation in the quantitative part. The statistical population of this research in the qualitative part included university professors and experts in Kermanshah province, 16 people were selected and interviewed by purposive sampling, and in the quantitative part, the statistical population included 4076 employees of universities and higher education institutions. Kermanshah province, 343 people were selected as a sample by stratified random sampling.
The findings showed 4 factors, structural indicators (politicization, amendment of laws and regulations, amendment of processes, structure design, rule of law, independence of the university, organizational support and connection of the university with the environment); Management indicators (ability of managers, collaborative management, creating a healthy work environment, creating equal opportunities, meritocracy, avoiding pretense and reward and career promotion); Group indicators (social participation, teamwork, constructive interaction of members with one another, improving the quality of education, knowledge creation, academic organizations and associations and participation in decision-making) and individual indicators (responsibility, motivation, expertise of human resources, trust and positive personality abilities) ) have an impact on social capital in universities and higher education institutions.
The results of the quantitative part showed that social capital has an effect on knowledge creation (β = 0.146, t = 3.017) and organizational learning ability (β = 0.706 and t = 22.572), and organizational learning ability is also in the relationship between Social capital has a mediating role with knowledge creation. According to these findings, it can be said that if universities address the main factors of social capital and strengthen it among employees, it can be expected that organizational learning and knowledge creation in universities will grow significantly. The results of examining the seventh question of the research showed that the organizational learning ability has the role of mediating variable between the social capital predictor variable and the knowledge creation criterion variable and explains it. This result was consistent with the research findings of Murad Heydari et al. (2015) and Brix (2017).
