Design the People Capability Maturity Model among Faculty Members Based on Grounded Theory (Case Study: Islamic Azad University of Fars Province)

Abstract

Introduction People capability maturity model is a plan and framework to help organizations develop the maturity and human resources’ level that continuously leads to the improvement of the human resource capabilities of the organization. The present study is conducted qualitatively with the aim of designing and validating the indigenous model of people capability maturity among faculty members of the Islamic Azad University of Fars Province based on the grounded theory.
research methodology. : First, the initial indicators are extracted by reviewing the research literature, and then the interview questions are designed and approved by 3 experts. . After that, semi-structured interviews are conducted with 17 faculty members who, in addition to having executive records over 5 years, also rank assistant professor and above. The snowball purposeful sampling method has been used for data selection. Data analysis has been done based on the grounded theory of Strauss and Corbin  
Findings: The results of data analysis obtained during 3 open, axial and selective coding processes led to the extraction of 26 concepts and 92 dimensions, which finally ended with the design of an indigenous people capability maturity model.
Conclusion: The results of validation show that the model has a high validity that can be used  by  managers.
