A Survey of the Relationship between Organizational Culture and Knowledge Management at IAU (Sari branch)

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between organizational culture and knowledge management in Islamic Azad University and the significance of each of the four components of compatibility, participation, flexibility in knowledge management. The instruments were two questionnaires of organizational culture and knowledge management with reliability indexes of 0.89 and 0.87 respectively. A total of 162   respondents  from among all Sari branch staff were selected randomly. The results indicated that there was a significant correlation of 0.77 between the two main variables of organizational culture and knowledge management. In addition, there was a correlated relationship between the components of organizational culture (partnership (r=0.60), organizational flexibility (r=0.75), mission (r=0.69), and organizational adaptation (r=0.49)) and knowledge management. Regression analyses also revealed the contribution of each component of the organizational culture to knowledge management (organizational flexibility (0.57), mission (0.5), organizational compatibility (0.4), and partnerships (0.2)).
