The Weighted Impact of Impression Management Dimensions to Organizational Influence and Political Skills: Evidence from Islamic Azad University Branches in Ardabil Province.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is evaluating the weighted impactof impression management dimensions on the development of organizational influence and political skills. This study is based on a correlation and the statistical population consists of all the academy members as well as employees of Islamic Azad University Branches of Ardebil province. According to Cochran sample volume method, 246 persons has been selected from 1067 persons. In order to collect information, a questionnaire designed and distributed among the sample members. Finally, 235 completed questionnaire was collected. Questionnaire validity is confirmed by the authorities and the reliability coefficients of impression management, organizational influence and political skills questionnaire was confirmed by Cronbach's Alpha method. We used Pearson Correlation method for knowing the relationship between variables and used Relative Importance method to analyzing the weighted impact of impression management dimensions on depend variables. The findings of research show that there is a relationship between impression management dimensions, organizational influence and political skills. And, Self-promotion dimension have the highest relative weight on development of organizational influence, and each of the impression management components is affect by different coefficients on political skills.
