Meta-analysis of Relationship between Occupational burnout and Emotional Intelligence

Abstract

Background: Occupational burnout refers to a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion resulting from involvement with people in emotionally demanding situations. Emotional Intelligence is one of the components that can affect on occupational burnout and lead to development of interpersonal and professional competence. Objectives: therefore, the aim of this study was to integrate the results of the relationship between Occupational burnout and Emotional Intelligence and to investigate their effect sizes by meta-analysis method. Method: For this purpose, 10 accepted researches were selected and meta-analysis was performed on them. Research instrument was checklist of meta-analysis. Findings: Findings indicated the amount of the relationship between Occupational burnout and Emotional Intelligence effect size was 0/62 ) p ≤0/001). Conclusion: according to cohen,s chart, the effect size of the relationship between Occupational burnout and Emotional Intelligence is great
