A Study of Learning and Problem-solving Styles of University Students(A Case Study of Marvdasht Islamic Azad University

Abstract

This study aimed at studying learning styles and problem-solving styles of university students. To this aim, 450 students were selected through stage cluster sampling strategy from among all student of Marvdasht Islamic Azad University. Felder-Solomon's learning styles and Heppner's problem-solving styles questionnaires were administered to the sample. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between students' learning styles and their problem-solving styles. It was also indicated that there was a significant relationship between students' major and the patterns of use of both learning styles and problem-solving styles. Further it was revealed that there was a statistically significant difference between the pattern of use of problemsolving styles of male and female student
