Introduction: The present study aims to design a conceptual model for attracting and guiding talented students in the field of mathematics-physics. This study aimed to determine the factors which affect students to attract in mathematics- physics field at high school.
research methodology: This research has been done in the framework of a qualitative approach and using the grounded theory method. In-depth interviews were used to collect data in the form of general and semi-structured guides, and data analysis was performed in order to design a qualitative research model by Strauss and Corbin method. Using purposive and snowball sampling methods, 21 ninth grade students, 16 parents of students, 23 teachers, 16 counselors and 15 lecturers were selected to participate in the semi-structured interview.
Findings: The results of analyzing the data obtained from the interviews during the open, axial, and selective coding process led to the creation of a proposed model for attracting and guiding talented students in the field of Mathematics-Physics based on grounded theory. Based on the designed model, it is suggested that in attracting and guiding students in the field of Mathematics-Physics, attention should be paid to the components of education, supportive policies, appropriate talent identify, student's interest, and the role of influential people in student life and gender.
Conclusion: Based on the results, a model for attracting and guiding talented students in the field of Mathematics-Physics has been proposed to be used in high school.
