Introduction:: The present study was conducted to identify the antecedents and consequences of students' academic resilience in Iranian schools using a meta-analysis approach.
Research methodology: The current research is descriptive in terms of execution method, applied in terms of the type of use, and quantitative in terms of type of data. The statistical population of the research was the articles published in all Persian-language scientific journals and master's theses in Iran in the field of students' academic resilience, from 2012 to 2023, from which 51 cases were entered meta-analysis process with a non-random purposive sampling method. The data collection tool was the meta-analysis coding form. The selected studies were analyzed using CMA2 software.
Findings: The meta-analysis of selected studies showed that among the antecedents of academic resilience, the variables of academic engagement (0.809), sense of belonging to school (0.762), happiness (0.700), academic self-regulation (0.579) and characteristics Personality (0.520) had the largest effect size. Also, among the consequences of academic resilience, the variables of social anxiety (-0.634), academic procrastination (-0.593), computer anxiety (-0.521), quality of life at school (0.520) and academic exhaustion ( -0.518), had the largest effect size.
Conclusion: Identifying the antecedents of academic resilience helps parents, teachers and officials of the educational system to take effective and useful measures in order to strengthen the academic resilience of students through focusing and applying the identified factors and variables. Also, the identified consequences make them aware of the positive results that academic resilience leads to, so that by strengthening academic resilience, the necessary ground is provided to reduce anxiety, procrastination and academic burnout and improve the quality of life of students in school.
