The present study was conducted in order to examine the mediating role of
academic resilience and academic engagement in the relationship between
academic support and academic well-being on 540 male and female high school
students in Shiraz city in the academic year (2001-2001). The sample members
were selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method and the scales of
academic support (Sands and Plunkett, 2005), academic resilience (Cassidy, 2016),
academic engagement (Fredericks et al., 2004) and well-being study (Tominin-
Sweeney et al., 2012). After collecting the data, the evaluation of the proposed
model was done with the method of structural equations and using the Imus
program. The results of the data analysis showed that academic resilience has a
significant mediating role between the relationship between academic support and
academic engagement. Academic engagement has a significant mediating role
between the relationship between academic resilience and academic well-being.
Also, academic resilience and academic engagement play a significant mediating
role between academic support and academic well-being, respectively. These
findings mean that academic support prepares students to acquire academic
resilience and flexibility in the face of academic problems and challenges, and
after acquiring this psychological component, a person is engagement and
involved in education. And learning works and finally experiences academic well-
being.
